ANDERSTORP - The seventh round of the Northern European Cup Formula Renault 2.0 will be held on the Circuit of Anderstorp (Sweden). The races are part of the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) weekend. The NEC Formula Renault 2.0 drivers will race together with their colleagues from the Scandinavian Formula Renault 2.0 Nordic Series. This means that around 30 drivers will be taking part in the event.

The top three in the championship is very close to each other. Chris van der Drift (NZL/JD Motorsport) is leading the championship with 207 points, thanks to his four wins this season. Filipe Albuquerque (POR/Motopark Oschersleben) is just three points behind. Xavier Maassen (NED/JD Motorsport) is third overall with 191 points. His compatriot Mervyn Kool (AR Motorsport) has climbed to fourth overall. Sebastien Buemi (CH/Motopark Oschersleben), who finished third in the 'Masters of Formula 3' in Zandvoort last weekend will once again join the series.

1. Chris van der Drift (NZL) 207 points, 2. Filipe Albuquerque (POR) 203 points, 3. Xavier Maassen (NED) 191 points, Atte Mustonen (FIN) 149 points, 5. Mervyn Kool (NED) 118 points, 6. John Edwards (USA) 115 points, 7. Brendon Hartley (NZL) 102 points, 8, Duarte Felix da Costa (POR) 100 points, 9. Sergey Afanasiev (RUS) 95 points, 10. Johnny Cecotto (VEN) 92 points.
