Ao responds with fastest time for round 2

Ao Chi Hong of Ao's Racing Team, who narrowly missed out on pole position in the qualifying session for Round 1, finally nailed the top spot for Round 2 with a time of 2:31.003. It was a tremendous result for the Macanese driver who has performed consistently well over the two sessions today.

Hong Kong driver Lo Ka Chun, last years Division 2 Champion, starts from 2nd place on the grid tomorrow with a time of 2:31.113, while countryman Gary Sham finished in the same position as he had in the qualifying for Round 1 of the series by retaining 3rd place.

GR Asia's pair of Ford Focus machines did not have the best of runs in the second session on a wet track, with Matthew Marsh, who took pole position for Round 1, having to settle for a disappointing 4th place. His teammate Nick Thomas also suffered a dip in performance with 10th place on the grid.

Hong Kong's Danny Stacy Chau was the pace setter in Division 2 with a time of 2:33.309, with Malaysian Mashlino Buang of Team Petronas behind him. Another Malaysian, Mohd Fariqe, also from Team Petronas had a disappointing session qualifying in last place. With a time of 2:56.074, he was way off the pace compared to his times in the first round.

Round One of the region's leading touring car series begins at 12:20 tomorrow (June 8), with the second of the 10-lap races scheduled for 16:00.
