The "Heartbreaker" sets her sights on the Blokes in V8 BRutes Series

Danielle Argiro's nickname is "The Heartbreaker" and she's aiming to do just that as the first woman racing driver to tackle a full season of the V8 BRutes Series later this month.

Danielle, 22, from Murrumba Downs on Brisbane's northside, will race a Holden SS ute for the Kanga Loaders team, challenging up to 30 men in the eight-round national series, which starts at the Clipsal 500 event in Adelaide on 18-21 March.

But she's undaunted by the formerly all-male V8 BRutes Series' reputation for tough, no-prisoners racing and says she has seen it all before.

After three years in Queensland's Gemini series, in which she finished third outright in her last season, then two years aboard a Holden Commodore in the State and national Saloon Car championships, Danielle is keen to move up to the 240 kmh V8 BRutes competition.

"I've been working to get a drive in something out of the amateur league. It's a bit of a rough scene out there, but you've got to do your best," she said.

"All through my years in the Geminis and Saloon Cars I think I've been trained in the tactics of the V8 BRutes."

Her rivals will be some of the toughest in the racing game, like touring car veteran Allan "Gricey" Grice, ex-Roosters rugby league star Jack "The Hustler" Elsegood and Glen "Bad Boy" Barnes.

Gritty nicknames are part of the equipment in V8 BRutes racing and Danielle hopes hers will ring true as she fights through the field.

Danielle tested the Holden for the first time recently at Queensland Raceway. She set lap times equal to the top 10 V8 BRute drivers and says she's now ready to race.
