Rusty Mitchell Ready For Road Racing Return

(Joliet, IL) 24 July, 2009--After earning a career best fourth place finish in last weekend's Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear event held at Iowa Speedway, Rusty Mitchell looks to bring that momentum to this weekend's event at Autobahn Chicago as the series changes gears from oval racing action and returns to road racing for the HARRAH's Grand Prix presented by Mazda and rounds 8 and 9 of the Star Mazda Championship season.

With two top ten finishes in the last two oval races with the Motorola-liveried Star Mazda, Mitchell hopes to continue this positive trend at this weekend's road course.

"I wouldn't mind doing some more oval racing, but I'm definitely looking forward to returning to a road course", said Mitchell. "Now that we've got a little momentum with two great oval results, I look forward to earning more championship points at Autobahn. It's a new track for everyone but I've had the chance to test there, and testing has really helped everything we've done this year so hopefully that will be the case with the Motorola car again this weekend. It's great to have two races as well. The Iowa weekend was fun with it being so compact, and with a two-race weekend now at Autobahn, there are a lot of points we can take."

Round 8 will take place Saturday July 25 at 1:05 pm with Round 9 following on Sunday, July 26 at 1:00pm CST.
