INDIANAPOLIS 500 WINNER DAN WHELDO TO APPEAR ON THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (June 6, 2005) - Dan Wheldon, driver of the #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam car and winner of the 2005 Indianapolis 500, will make his first-ever appearance on Monday night's airing of The Late Show with David Letterman.

"I'm expecting to have a lot of fun," said Wheldon.  "I'm sure we're going to be talking about his
young, female race driver.  Dave is someone who I watch pretty regularly on television and I admire
his quick wit.  Being on the show is another thing that you associate with winning the 500, so to be on
the show is very, very special.  Plus, I love New York City, so I can get some shopping in before the
show.  I'm sure it will be fun and I'm really looking forward to it."

Wheldon continued his incredible start - the best in Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series history - by winning the 89th running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 29. To start the 2005 season, Wheldon has won four of the five IndyCar Series races and holds a 72-point lead over the closest competitor in the IndyCar Series points championship.

Scheduled to appear on The Late Show with Wheldon are Cedric the Entertainer and the Black Eyed Peas. The Late Show with David Letterman airs nightly on CBS at 11:30 p.m. (EDT).

The IndyCar Series schedule resumes Saturday, June 11, from Texas Motor Speedway for the Bombardier Learjet 500. ESPN will provide live broadcast coverage of the event beginning at 8:30 p.m. (EDT).
