FWT Spec Racer class information
In light of the recent announcement by Stars of Karting, I feel compelled to provide some direction for the competitors who have made a commitment to participate in the Stars Spec Racer class at the 2008 FWT. The quality of the racers' experience is of the utmost importance to me and my entire staff.
First, we will continue to allow all three engines to compete.
Second, FWT Chief Scrutineer Don Moormeister has developed a three-pronged approach to address any potential advantages attributed to the RoK TT and the disadvantages attributed to the Parilla Leopard and the Rotax FR125. These potential changes involve both mechanical and physical changes that could be implemented. Note that I say could be implemented. Currently the cost to the RoK TT competitor for the parts required to make those changes will be approximately $7.00. It is not anticipated that there will be any cost associated to the potential changes for the Leopard and Rotax competitors.
Third, during the week of February 11-14 Don Moormeister and Wesley Boswell will be testing to determine the result of mechanical and physical changes to the current regulations. Once those tests are completed, FWT will announce our decision for the Moroso rounds of the 2008 FWT.
I look forward to seeing all our friends and supporters for the remainder of the largest and most successful FWT in its 10 year history. With over 800 entries for the first rounds we're excited to move forward into a new age of karting in the Americas.
Sincerely,
Bill Wright - Formula Kart Productions, Inc.
