Friday Practice Remains Intact For Speedway Pavement Series

02.19.2009 - As efforts continue to trim costs to the competitor across the board, one segment of the weekend's activities for the Rage Karts Speedway Pavement Series will remain the same. Beginning with the Hodge Racing Supply Nationals April 3-5 at OCR Action Sports Park in Rougemont, North Carolina, the traditional Friday Practice for the series competitors will continue, in preparation for their first national event of the new year.

While trimming days activities would conceivably save the competitor financially, the recent announcement regarding the 2009 tire rule has many competitors already feeling a huge savings in a tough economic year, with the vast majority voting to retain a full days practice on race weekends.

Update To Gold Cup Tire Announcement

02.19.2009 - To clarify points made in the recent tire announcement regarding the first Gold Cup event at Lowe's Motor Speedway, the Dunlop DCM 600-5 or DDM 600-5 tire will be allowed to be used at the Michigan Kart Supply Nationals March 20-22. The Dunlop 450-5 tire must be DDM . Competitors that utilized the Firestone YFA tire in 2008 will also be able to utilize that compound for the series first race as well. This rule applies to the FIRST RACE ONLY. Beginning with the July event at Camden, Ohio, the 2009 compounds, Dunlop DDM and Firestone YKD, will be the only compounds allowed.

Entry Blank For Manufacturer's Cup MRP Speed School Nationals Posted

02.19.2009 -- The entry blank for the second National event on the George Kugler Bridgestone Manufacturer's Cup Series driven by Mazda schedule has been posted. As WKA is continually making updates to better give their competitors a great racing environment, please be aware of changes to the entry blank over the next couple of weeks.
