BMARA: Angell Park summary

SUN PRAIRIE WI, May 25---Fast Qualifier Davey Ray outlasted the field to win the Badger Midget Series 50-lap feature, Sunday Night at Angell Park Speedway. The event saw seven lead changes, three caution flags, three red flags, and featured two false restarts. It marked the first victory for the newly formed Ralph Wilke owned team.

Last weeks feature winner Dan Boorse jumped into the lead, and paced all but one of the first eleven laps, before Aaron Fike moved in front as the leaders began lapping the tail of the field. Ray moved into the top five at this time and began to close down on the leaders.

Fike led the field on lap 17 restart, but lost lead to Critter Malone two laps later. Randy Koch flipped escaping injury one lap later. On the restart Fike regained the lead from Malone as Ray made a nice move around the pair for the lead on the twenty third lap.

Ray, Fike, and Boorse then ran nose to tail over the remainder of the distance pulling away from the field. At the finish Ray enjoyed a 2.17 second margain over Fike, Boorse, John Jones, and Kevin Olson. No drivers were injuried in any of the incidents, which saw only tweleve cars finish the event.

Ray holds a twenty eight point lead over Boorse heading into the May 30-31 Knoxville Midget Championship at the Knoxville Raceway.
