* Stacy Compton is ranked 15th in the current NASCAR Busch Series standings. He has $584,179 in earnings this year.

* Compton has seven NASCAR Busch Series starts in his career at the Bristol Motor Speedway, including an 11th-place finish there last year.

* Compton will be making his 129th consecutive career start in the NASCAR Busch Series circuit -- all with ST Motorsports and Kingsford Charcoal. Compton and Kingsford Charcoal have the longest-running current relationship with the same team in the Busch Series.

On Bristol: "Although it's a short track, you go to Bristol with the same mentality that you go to Daytona or Talladega since you know there's going to be a couple big accidents and it's so easy to get caught up in them. You go so fast there, a wreck can start in Turn 2 while you're on the frontstretch, but you can get caught up in it because you'll be in Turn 2 in a couple seconds. Bristol is a great track for us. Our goal is to miss the Big One. If we do, we should have a solid Top-10 finish."

On the season: "The announcement last week that ST Motorsports and Wood Brothers Racing were going to work together is great news for our future. It's so difficult to be a team in the NASCAR Busch Series that's not part of a Nextel Cup Series operation, so this will help us close that gap. Until then, however, we have to keep working hard to get in the Top 10 and win races."

On Bristol: "In some ways, a crew chief fears Bristol more than a restrictor plate track since it's so easy to be in the middle of somebody else's mess. We've always had good cars at Bristol, and we know we've got a good one for Friday night's race. As long as we stay out of trouble, we'll be good.
