Gresham Looking To Take NASCAR K&N Win At 'Home' Track

JEFFERSON, GA (August 25, 2010) -- On the surface, it would seem Max Gresham would have a distinct advantage in Saturday's American Fence Association 150 Presented By Mayfield Ice Creamier NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at Gresham Motorsports Park.

After all, the event is at his family-owned racetrack, right?

"Honestly, I don't have that many laps at GMP," said Gresham, who will wheel the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in Saturday's NASCAR K&N race. "I raced in the World Crown 300 there last year and I've had a couple of test sessions in my Gibbs' K&N car and my Gresham Motorsports ARCA car, but that's it."

Gresham, the grandson of GMP track owner Jim Gresham, has had a stellar year winning two NASCAR K&N events (South Boston and Iowa). The two victories ties Gresham with Darrell Wallace, Jr. for the division lead in wins this season.

Gresham is currently fifth in the K&N Series East championship standings.

"My season so far has been pretty decent, but we have definitely had our hiccups," Max said. "Our JoeGibbs Racing Team is still very strong and our goal now is to go out and win as many races as we can before the season comes to an end."

At GMP Saturday, Gresham will be looking to send his family and large group of Woodward Academy classmates attending the race home with a victory.

"Racing at my family's race track is going to be a cool," Max said. "It will be neat to have the support of the fans that come to see the race. Knowing that many of my family members and classmates will be there will be cool too. It means a lot. I'd like nothing better than to give my grandfather, family and friends a win. That's what we'll be shooting for."
