Jason Line advances to semifinals
BAYTOWN, Texas (April 2, 2006) -- Jason Line wheeled his KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO to a semifinal finish at this weekend's 19th annual NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts National at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas, just outside Houston.
En route to the semifinal match up against Mike Edwards, Line defeated Barry Grant in the opening round in round and Rickie Smith in round two.
Against Edwards, who went on to win the event, Line ran a 6.730-second elapsed time at 205.82 mph. Edwards took the win light in 6.728 seconds at 206.32 mph.
""We showed some improvement over our start in the first three races," said Line. "We must carry that momentum into Las Vegas so that we can continue the improvement. There's still a lot of work to do and we'll start by staying here and testing our Summit Pontiac ."
Line moved up to six in the NHRA POWERade point standings with 225 points, just four points out of the top five and six points behind fourth.
