Line brings Summit Pontiac to line against Ron Krisher in opening round
MORRISON, Colo. (July 14, 2007) -- Although he struggled by KB Racing standards, Jason Line, driver of the KB Racing LLC Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO, parlayed his run of 7.076 seconds into a No. 10 spot on the final qualifying ladder for the 28th annual NHRA Mopar Mile-High Nationals
Line, the reigning NHRA POWERade Pro Stock champ, ran his best elapsed time of the weekend in the cooler air on Friday evening but the heat on Saturday, both air temperature and track temperature alike, prevented all the Pro Stock cars from making drastic improvement on their times of Friday.
While Line wishes that they had an opportunity to test at Bandimere Speedway, he does know that he would like to equal or better his runner-up finish of last year here at this year's NHRA Mopar Mile-High Nationals. His opponent in the opening round of eliminations tomorrow is Ron Krisher, who qualified seventh.
At this point in the race weekend, Line holds the track speed record of 195.73 mph, which he ran in the first qualifying session on Friday.
