Jeg Goes Out in Round One

Jeg and his JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier started the second event of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing season from the No. 3 position.

In the opening round Jeg faced off against Jim Yates. Lane choice went to Jeg and he took the preferred left lane.

Jeg took the starting line advantage by .009 seconds (.030 to .039). The JEG'S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier was up on the wheelie bars and came slamming down. Jeg ran a 7.145 at 192.36 mph and the win went to Yates.

"We broken a rocker arm right in half at the top of first gear and the engine lost a lot of power immediately," said Jeg. "These cars don't run very well on seven cylinders. It was unfortunate and one of those freak things that happen. The guys did a great job through qualifying and we all really felt good about our set up going into race day. We had a car that was capable of going the distance. Our group will head back to the shop and start preparing for the Mac Tools Gatornationals."
