Rain Takes Driver's Seat at Silver Dollar Raceway
REYNOLDS, Ga. -- Just as the weatherman had predicted, rainclouds made their way to the city and watered down Silver Dollar Raceway. The day was set for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series qualifying runs, yet Mother Nature had other plans. With sunshine in the near future, this event will wrap up Southeast Division competition Sunday evening.
NHRA's Southeast Division Director, Bill Holt, stated, "More than 2 inches of rain has fallen at Silver Dollar Raceway over night and this morning and it is looking like we won't be racing today. That is the bad news; the good news is the weather forecast is great for Saturday and Sunday. With so many Division and World Championships on the line, the plan is to start in the morning at 10 AM with time runs and give everyone two runs. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will run at 3 and 6 PM, all eliminations will be on Sunday."
General Admission / Pit Pass: $20 Saturday; $20 Sunday. A two-day ticket is $35. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. For more information please call Silver Dollar Raceway, (478) 847-4414 or visit www.SilverDollarDragway.com.
