USERA Spec 9 Championship Schedule Announced

DANVILLE, VA. (January 25, 2007) -- The United States Endurance Racing Association has added Iowa Speedway and Phoenix International Raceway to the 2007 USERA Spec 9 Championship. With these additions, the 2007 schedule currently consists of seven race weekends for a total of 14 races in 2007.

The USERA Spec 9 Championship offers two sprint races each weekend for two types of Porsche 911 sports cars. Group A consists of 2000 through 2007 showroom stock Porsche 911 that basically use rules similar to the Grand-Am Koni Challenge "GS" rules. This allows teams to build cars eligible for Grand-Am and USERA competition.

Group B consists of 996-based Porsche GT3 Cup factory built race cars. These cars have been very successful at all levels of sprint and endurance racing in North America, including club racing, the Grand-Am Rolex GT Championship and the IMSA GT2 Cup Challenge. Group B offers a class for owners and teams looking to extend the winning history of these cars. Combined, the two groups provide something for everyone, whether that interest is in street based sports car racing or leans more toward purpose built racing machines.

Double races each weekend offers both teams and fans alike double the racing excitement as teams adjust their car between races searching for that last tenth of a second. The USERA Spec 9 Championship offers a driver and team championship for both groups. The battles between drivers will be matched in intensity by the battles between teams.
