What to Watch: Simo going for four-in-a-row: Brian Simo has won three consecutive Trans-Am Series races, and looks to become the first driver to score four-in-a-row since Tom Kendall achieved the feat en route to his historic 11-race win streak in 1997. Simo, who won the inaugural Houston Trans-Am Series race last year, could also become the fourth driver in series history to win at a venue's first two Trans-Am Series contests, a feat last achieved by Kendall in Minneapolis (1996-' 97).

Texas drivers return home: Three Texas drivers return home this weekend to compete in the Texaco Grand Prix of Houston Trans-Am Series race: Garland's Lou Gigliotti, in the No. 28 LG Motorsports/G2 Performance Parts Chevrolet Corvette, finished 10th in 1998 after starting 12th; Houston's Andre Toennis, in the No. 41 RT Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro, finished 20th in 1998 after starting 30th; and Austin's G.J. Mennen, in the No. 4 Smith Eye Wear Ford Mustang Cobra, finished 29th in 1998 after starting 32nd.
