Lucas Oil ASCS Patriots Rained Out at Black Rock, Reset for May 15

TULSA, Okla. (April 30, 2009)- It was originally scheduled for May 15, and with the help of Mother Nature, the first Lucas Oil ASCS Patriot event at Black Rock Speedway is back to the third Friday in May.

With inches of rain in the forecast for the first day of May, the decision has been made to hold off on the 2009 season opener. The decision moves the season opener to next Friday, May 8, at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway.

"We appreciate (Black Rock Owner) Dean Hoag trying to start the season on the first weekend of May," stated Patriot Regional Director Mike Emhof. "I also know that the racers appreciate an early decision to cancel instead of waiting for the inevitable."

The May 15 rescheduled date should be a seamless transition as it was listed as such on all of the Patriot and Black Rock scheduled and teams had already planned to run on that weekend.

Albany-Saratoga is now put squarely in the spotlight, as they will host the 2009 Season Opener. It is the first time the Patriots have ever traveled to the Eastern New York Friday Night Home for Dirt Racing and awaiting figures to be one of the largest crowds of the year.
