GRAF BACKS UP POLE WITH FAST TIM IN FINAL CLEVELAND TRANS-AM PRACTICE
CLEVELAND (June 25, 2005) -- Rookie Klaus Graf turned in the fastest time in his No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR during this morning's 15-minute practice session for today's Trans-Am on the Tarmac at the Burke Lakefront Airport. The German national turned a 1:13.131-minute lap at 102.273 miles per hour.
Outside polesitter Paul Gentilozzi was second fastest in the No. 1 Jaguar R Performance XKR, while Randy Ruhlman (No. 49 Preformed Line Products Chevrolet Corvette) recovered from a hard crash in first-round practice yesterday to earn the third slot on the charts, about three tenths off Graf's time. Joey Scarallo (No. 06 Group A Wheels/Autotrend/Toyo Tires Chevrolet Corvette) and Tomy Drissi (No. 5 Fantastic Four -- The Movie Jaguar XKR) completed the top five.
The Trans-Am on the Tarmac, Round 3 of the 2005 Trans-Am Championship and part of the Grand Prix of Cleveland presented by U.S. Bank weekend, is scheduled for this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Today's race will air on a tape-delayed basis, Sunday, July 3 at 3 p.m. EDT on SPEED Channel.
