TIM BARBER WINS GTA PORTION OF EDMONTON TRANS-AM RACE
EDMONTON, Alberta (July 16, 2005) -- Tim Barber finished first in the GTA Class of the Festival City 100 Trans-Am Series race Saturday at the West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix of Edmonton.
Barber (No. 96 Riverside Motorsports Park Pontiac Grand Prix) finished eighth overall and retains the GTA points lead.
"The race went really smooth," said Barber. "We brought out a new car this weekend and didn't have a bobble or a twitch all weekend. I had a ball up here in Edmonton and I can't wait to come back next year."
"We have a really good time this year," added Barber. "We're looking forward to the next race in San Jose."
Local driver Tony Morris, Jr. finished second in class in the No. 20 Aspen Custom Trailers Chevrolet Monte Carlo, ahead of Roy Isley (No. 46 Canadian Western Aggregate Chevrolet Monte Carlo).
