GENTILOZZI ON POLE FOR TROIS-RIVIERES NTB TRANS-AM
TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec, Can. (Aug. 1, 1998) -- Paul Gentilozzi, of Lansing, Mich., earned his sixth pole of the season in qualifying for Sunday's Sunday's 55-lap, 82.83-mile NTB Trans-Am Series race at the Grand Prix Player's de Trois-Rivieres.
Gentilozzi, in the No. 3 AutoLink Chevrolet Corvette, posted a top time of 1:04.405 (84.179 mph) to front the 27-car NTB Trans-Am field, while Brian Simo, in the No. 2 Valvoline Ford Mustang Cobra, will start on the outside front row with a qualifying time of 1:04.405 (84.179 mph).
"The fans here in Trois-Rivieres are some of the most enthusiastic and knowledgeable about motorsports in North America," said Gentilozzi. "This is a fun circuit and we'll give the fans a great show."
Gentilozzi's RocketSports teammate Bill Saunders, in the No. 8 AutoLink Corvette, qualified third, followed by Randy Ruhlman, No. 49 Preformed Line Products Mustang Cobra, and Bruce Qvale, No. 44 Huffaker/Qvale Motorsports Mustang Cobra.
Sunday's race will be televised live on TNN-The Nashville Network beginning at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
