Mat Neely Ready for Eldora and the Four Crown Nationals, Unveiling New Sprint Car
ROBINSON, Illinois (September 21, 2006) -- Mat Neely has a busy weekend ahead of him for the Mopar Four Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway. Not only will he be unveiling a brand new 2B Racing Lucas Oil Products machine, but he will also be piloting the RW Motorsports Silver Crown car.
2B Racing and Lucas Oil Products unveiled their new car two weeks ago at the "Diamond of the Dirt Tracks," Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The new red and white car was on display throughout the evening, and Neely spent some time with the fans signing autographs
Last weekend, Neely participated in the inaugural weekend at the brand new Iowa Speedway, racing in both the United States Auto Club (USAC) National Sprint Car and the K & N Filters Silver Crown division.
"I have never seen light poles going by as fast as they were at Iowa," said Neely. "As much as I enjoyed the sheer speed, I'm looking forward to going back to Eldora."
The last time Neely visited the famed half mile he walked away with the 2006 Buckeye Nationals championship in hand. That was the first weekend that Neely teamed up with 2005 USAC National Sprint Car champion owner Scott Benic.
Benic has taken over the maintenance duties for the RW Motorsports Silver Crown car, which has put the car in his Benic Enterprises shop in Fairmount, Indiana. The HG Engines and Testing powered Beast chassis was hustled by Neely to a fifth place finish at the DuQuoin State Fair.
"I have a great feeling about this weekend, with the brand new sprint car and the confidence I have in Benic preparing the RW Motorsports car," explained Neely from the Benic Enterprises shop.
