ROBINSON, Illinois (May 25, 2006) -- Mat Neely, of Robinson Illinois, will be driving the Rotondo-Weirich Motorsports number 27 machine in the fifty-third running of the Hoosier Hundred. The USAC K & N Filters Silver Crown dirt schedule kicks off on Friday, May 26, 2006 at the famed Indiana State Fairgrounds. The Hoosier Hundred is a feather in the cap of a great week of racing in central Indiana.
Neely will serve as a teammate to Silver Crown veteran, Rich Tobias, Jr., who also drives for RWMS on the pavement. Driving a Beast chassis powered by Ed Pink Chevrolet horsepower and sponsored by Rotondo-Weirich, this will be Neely's first outing for the RWMS team as a driver.
Neely is currently in fifth place in the USAC National Sprint Car point standings. Coming off of a sixth place finish on Wednesday night at Anderson Speedway, Neely has had a wonderful year thus far. On dirt, he is driving the Truckers 24 Hour Road Service number ten machine and on pavement, he is driving the Mat Neely Motorsports number six sprinter.
