Mike Martin of Yuma, Ariz. leads the USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series to Saturday night's event at Thunder Raceway in Show Low, Ariz., holding a six-point lead over Ronnie Clark.
Martin won the last series feature, June 7 at Lubbock, Texas, and is the only driver who has finished in the "top-10" in all six series races so far.
Martin finished ninth at Show Low on May 24 in a race won by Kent Rosevear, the only driver to repeat as a feature winner this year. Other 2003 series winners have been Rick Ziehl, Beau Binder, Charles Davis, Jr. and Garry Lee Maier.
A 30-lap feature event is scheduled at the 1/4-mile dirt track where Kaylene Verville of Phoenix, Ariz. became USAC's first-ever female Sprint Car feature winner last year. Verville, who is expected to compete in Saturday night's race, is currently third in the standings, only 10 behind the leader.
