WESTERN MIDGETS AT USA RACE PARK SATURDAY & SUNDAY
FLOCK RECORDS 51ST CAREER WIN AT VENTURA
Tyler Brown of Norco, Calif. finished third in Saturday night's 30-lap Western Midget feature at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway and takes a 13-point lead over Matt Mitchell into this weekend's races at USA Race Park in Tucson, Ariz. A 30-lap feature is scheduled on the 3/8-mile dirt track Saturday and a 40-lapper is on tap Sunday.
Brown won a race earlier this year at Bakersfield, Calif. and is among heavy favorites at Tucson.
Robby Flock of Murrieta, Calif. captured last Saturday night's 30-lap feature at Ventura, leading the final 15 laps after passing Chris Rahe on lap 16. The victory was Flock's 51st in USAC Western Midget competition. Rahe finished second ahead of Brown, Greg Bragg and Garrett Hansen.
Defending series champion Jerome Rodela was the fastest Ventura qualifier and is third in the new points, only 23 behind the leader.
