Piscopo secures more points in Brands Hatch's finale
Edoardo Piscopo took two more important points at Brands Hatch, in the 2007/2008 A1 Grand Prix Of Nations season finale. On the British Brands Hatch track, in its Grand Prix configuration, Piscopo had a good start in practice, despite it was his first approach to the tough racetrack, by keeping a small gap to the top. Unfortunately, in qualifying he experienced some performance troubles with new tires, that forced him to stay on the same laptimes and clinch respectively row 8 and row 9 of the following races. In the Sprint Race, Edoardo elected not to take risks on an almost unknown racetrack, and ended up in 17th while, also thanks to the laps completed earlier, he managed to climb back to 9th place on the Feature Race, scoring two more points for Team Italy and completing a good season ending.
"We were really damaged by Qualifying. I clocked a good laptime in the first Practice session, especially considering that it was my first time at Brands, while we literally fell in qualifying: despite the new tires we ran on the same laptimes, being relegated to the rear. We decided to switch back to the set-up used in practice and it went better: on Race 1 I tried to make experience and avoid mistakes, while on the longer Race 2 I managed to move forward, score two valuable points, and run on decent times."
