Sepang: Team Great Britain practice notes

Malaysia is embracing the A1 Grand Prix with vigour -- and in return A1 Grand Prix has initiated a ticket promotion to bring out the 'Pride of Nations' in the crowd. Free general access tickets are being given away to the first 100 supporters for each country to supporters arriving in national theme dress and colours. The weekend promises to be a colourful event!

Following two points-scoring races in Australia two weekends ago, the British squad is looking to continue making progress up the leader board. With a maximum of 21 points available overtaking A1 Team Switzerland, who are 17 points ahead in third, will be tough but New Zealand are currently only two points ahead and fourth in the championship is an attainable target for the weekend. Two practice sessions were held today giving Robbie Kerr the opportunity to learn the track and the team data to refine the set-up of the car. By the end of the second session, over six-tenths of a second had been shaved off GBR's fastest time and the team were on an overnight mission to find more improvements overnight before tomorrow's qualifying sessions.

Robbie Kerr: "We're fairly happy with the way the day went. It's a new circuit and there's a few drivers that the track isn't new to so I'm still learning. We've done quite a few laps with the car, know roughly where we are with it and are moving forward. In terms of position we were 7th quickest in session two but it's not representative of our pace given how old some things such as tyres are on the car. We're looking through data now to find more time and looking forward to tomorrow."
