- Construction is continuing for Le Mans Adelaide with two of the spectator bridges now in place. Lane closures on Dequetteville Terrace begin on December 2 with traffic restricted to two lanes each way. Please note access to the city via Bartels Road will be available right up until 6pm on December 28.

- The 2000 Le Mans Series will finish off in style in Australia with the Championship Gala Presentation Night due to be staged at Adelaide Oval on Monday, January 1. The black-tie banquet will award the series championship awards for both teams and drivers in the Prototype, GTS and GT classes.

- The first Le Mans Series cars are due to arrive in Australia on December 3 when the two DAMS Cadillac machines land in Melbourne on an international cargo freighter. The cars will be stored in Melbourne by freight forwarding and customs agent, Bechtrans Motorsport Logistics, before arriving in Adelaide by road in late December. The Le Mans Adelaide media office will advise further arrival updates as soon as schedules are finalised.

- While David Brabham and Rohan Skea have been flying the flag for Australian throughout the 2000 Le Mans Series - there have been a number of other Aussies behind the scenes. A former mechanic with the Garry Rogers Motorsport V8 Supercar team, Chris Horvath, is now the #1 mechanic on the Frank Biela/Emanuele Pirro team. Other Aussies in the pits include Wayne Hynes (White Lightning Racing), Greg Forde (PTG BMW) as well as Adelaide-born spanner-man and truck driver, Reg Schmeiss (BMW).

- For Le Mans Adelaide, more than 850 volunteer officials will play a key part in the on-track activities in vital roles including flag marshals, fire crews, paddock marshals, race timing and scrutineers.

- Regardless of whether BMW GT driver Hans Stuck wins his class in Adelaide, the German will still have reason to celebrate after the race. The two-time Le Mans 24 Hour winner will celebrate his 50th birthday on January 1.

- The official Le Mans Adelaide souvenir program is set to hit the streets on December 4. Produced by The Advertiser, the 112 page publication provides race fans with a valuable insight into the world of Le Mans sportscar racing and the exciting New Year's Eve spectacular.

- Race fans will have the choice of two spectacular concerts to celebrate New Year's Eve. The Living End, Spiderbait and You Am I will perform on CBC oval - the traditional venue for after-race concerts in Adelaide. INXS and Taxiride will perform on a new stage to be constructed behind the pit straight grandstand. All ticket holders will have the choice of attending either concert.

- Le Mans Adelaide will feature drivers from the U.S., U.K., Italy, Germany, Denmark, France, Japan, Belgium, Venezuela, Austria, Mexico, Canada and Australia.

- International media from these countries also will be in attendance for the Adelaide race including a Venezuelan television crew.

- While they may have been born in a wide variety of countries, five drivers competing in Adelaide actually reside in Monaco - Lola team-mates Mimmo Schiattarella and Didier de Radigues; Porsche GT team-mates Dirk Muller and Lucas Luhr as well as Dodge Viper GTS driver, Olivier Beretta.
