American Le Mans Series Names New Sponsor Coordinator
BRASELTON, GA. - Pattie Hughes Mayer has joined the staff of the American Le Mans Series in the newly-created position of Sponsor Coordinator, the professional sports car racing series has announced.
In her new position, Mayer will work closely with series sponsors prior to and during event weekends on credentials, hospitality, signage, award presentations and other matters. In addition, she will serve as a pace car driver for sanctioning body IMSA and will also conduct pace car rides for sponsor representatives at the events.
A racing driver since 1986 in both sports car racing and rally competition, Mayer works as a professional driving instructor and automotive consultant for major automotive manufacturers. The first female driving instructor for the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, she is also a member of the Official Pace Car Team for the Champ Car World Series. She also holds an Occupational Therapy degree from Ohio State University.
Mayer and her husband, Tim, reside in Suwanee, Ga., with their two children.
