WHAT: American Le Mans at Mid-Ohio American Le Mans Series Round Six of Nine
The weekend marks the Midwest debut of the American Le Mans Series and the return of the Trans-Am Series to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The two series compliment a Neohio Region SCCA National, featuring eight SCCA Club Racing point battles previewing the year-end Valvoline Runoffs® national championship event.

COURSE: 2.258-mile, 13-turn permanent road course
ALMS RACING
Le Mans Prototype (LMP) 900
CATEGORIES: Features
closed-wheel, purpose-built racing chassis and 6.0 liter normally aspirated
or 4.0 liter turbocharged engines. Cars include the Panoz LMP 07s and
LMP-1s, Riley & Scott Mk3Cs, Lola B2Ks, Audi R8s, Cadillac/Northstars and
Reynard 01Qs.
Le Mans Prototype (LMP) 675
As "little brother" to the larger LMP 900s,
the LMP 675s use either 3.4 liter normally aspirated or 2.0 liter
turbocharged engines. Common manufacturers include Lola, Reynard and
Pilbeam.
Grand Touring Sport (GTS)
The GTS class is comprised of
production-based, two-wheel drive open or closed cockpit cars. Machines are
limited to 100-liter fuel tanks, six forward gears, 8.0 liter normally
aspirated and 4.0 liter turbocharged engines. Cars include Dodge Viper
GTS-R/Ts, Chevrolet C5-Rs, Saleen S7Rs and Porsche 911 Turbos.
Grand Touring (GT)
GT cars are production-based, two-wheel
drive open or closed cockpit cars that use 8.0 liter normally aspirated
engines or 4.0 liter turbocharged engines. Cars include BMW M3s, Callaway
C-12Rs, Chevrolet Corvette C5-Rs and Porsche 911s.
SUPPORT RACES: Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup Saturday, Aug. 25 4:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (45 laps/101.25 miles)
The Trans-Am Series is North America's longest running road racing series and the Mid-Ohio race will be number 401 in its 36-year history. Cars include Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros, Ford Mustangs, Panoz Esperantes and Jaguar XKRs.
Neohio Region SCCA National Sunday, Aug. 26 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Eight Races)
Competitors battle in SCCA Club Racing Nationals to earn points-based berths to the season-ending National Championship Valvoline Runoffs® at Mid-Ohio. The August 26 races will serve as one the last chances to collect points for the Runoffs and will offer a great preview of the event.
