Sharpe heads for Sebring
British sports car racer Adam Sharpe is looking forward to this weekend's Sebring 12 hours where he will be joined by Neil Cunningham in the works Morgan Aero 8. Sharpe headed to Sebring on Saturday following a successful shake down test at Donington Park the previous week, and is hopeful of a strong outing in the American classic.
"The shake down was good and I am confident we can race well in Sebring," said the 19 year old from Taunton. "We have not been able to complete a lot of testing since the Le Mans 1000kms event last November but the car is strong and there have been a few developments which I think could work well for us. There's no doubt we are quite quick, helped a lot by the arrival of the Yokohama deal, but our trump card is the fuel consumption which is a big asset over the course of these longer events."
Sharpe, currently studying for a Technology degree at Oxford Brookes University, is confident that the Morgan Aero 8 package will also have the benefit of good reliability.
"The car is immensely strong and a real credit to the design team and the engineers. If one of the major things to achieve is to have a well engineered, solid car to develop then we have that base already and I think Sebring will give us a good step forward."
