AMA PRO RACING ANNOUNCES 2006 FLAT TRACK SCHEDULE
PICKERINGTON, Ohio (Dec. 5, 2005) -- AMA Pro Racing announced today the schedule for the 2006 AMA Flat Track Championship.
Currently the schedule includes a total of 16 rounds, 12 for the GNC Twins class and four for the GNC Singles class. AMA Pro Racing Flat Track Series Manager Bruce Bober said he is in active negotiations with several promoters and additional Singles dates will be placed on the schedule.
"The GNC Twins schedule is further developed at this time," commented Bober. "Now our focus is on rounding out the overall schedule with GNC Singles races."
AMA Pro Racing announced on Nov. 7th that beginning with the 2006 racing season, the championship would be split into two series, one for Singles and one for Twins. Response to that announcement has been positive and Bober has made tremendous progress with tracks and promoters to finalize a complete, two-class championship."
"Ideally, we're targeting up to 12 rounds per championship," said Bober. "We're there now with Twins events and expect to complete the Singles schedule soon."
