Lusk and Semics team for 2004

BAINBRIDGE, GA - January 2004 / -- Ezra Lusk announced he will team with veteran motocross trainer Gary Semics for the 2004 indoor/outdoor season. Lusk said the two hit the track December 1st at Lusk's Bainbridge, Georgia training facility to begin preparations for what the 28-year-old rider said could be his final attempt at winning a national championship.

"I've always told myself I wouldn't race after 30. By teaming with Gary, I feel I'm giving myself the best possible chance of finally accomplishing the goal I've had since I was a kid," said Lusk, who has won 14 races over his pro career but never a national championship.

Semics, a former supercross champion with 14 years experience as a pro racer, has personally trained many of the world's winningest riders, including Jeremy McGrath, Brock Sellards, John Dowd, and Kevin Windham. (www.mxraceschool.com)

"Gary and I worked together in 1997 and it was during that period when I won my first indoor race and my first-ever 250 outdoor race, and it turned out to be the most successful period of my career," said Lusk. "That's why Gary's name kept coming up as I started putting together my game plan for 2004."

Lusk said the 2004 season will also reunite him with Team Yamaha.

"Coincidentally, I was on a Yamaha and working with Gary when I was riding my strongest. Riding with Yamaha and training with Gary is a very comfortable combination for me," said Lusk.
