Patterson Makes it Two in a Row at AMA/WMA Women's National Motocross at Southwick
SOUTHWICK, Mass. (August 24, 2008) -- After grabbing her first victory of 2008 at the previous round in Washougal, Wash., American Honda/Honda of Houston/Fox Racing/Bad Boy Energy Drink's Jessica Patterson, garnered her second consecutive overall victory at the penultimate round of the six-race AMA/WMA Women's National Motocross Championship Presented by Kawasaki. Patterson swept the motos for the first time this season, earning convincing wins on Saturday and Sunday.
"It feels good to get two in a row," said Patterson. "Ashley (Fiolek) has been riding good all year and I had some trouble early on (in the season). I know that it's going to be tough (to catch her) but all I can do is ride my best."
American Honda/Red Bull/Alpinestars rider and series points leader Ashley Fiolek grabbed the Meterman Holeshot Award in each moto and finished second overall after a pair of runner-up finishes. Fiolek holds a comfortable 28-point lead with just one round remaining.
Zip Ty Racing/Malcolm Smith Suzuki/Accelerade's Sherri Cruse boasted a stellar weekend, taking home third in each moto for third overall.
