Event:
Round 6 of the 12-event CART Toyota Atlantic Championship will be held
on the 1.029-mile oval at the Chicago Motor Speedway in Cicero, Illinois
as Sunday's opening event at the CART Grand Prix of Chicago. Sunday's
race will mark the 3rd time since 1999, the Atlantic series has competed
on this oval.
Race Series:
The CART-sanctioned Toyota Atlantic Championship is the top rung on
CART's "Ladder System", and is noted for its long history of graduating
its stars into CART competition. Among the drivers who have graduated
from the Atlantic series are CART Champ car stars Michael Andretti,
Jimmy Vasser, Patrick Carpentier and Alex Tagliani, former Champ Car
stars Bobby Rahal and Danny Sullivan, as well as 1997 FIA Formula One
Champion, Jacques Villeneuve.

Saturday, June 29:
Practice 8:00 a.m. -- 9:00 a.m.
Practice 11:45 a.m. -- 12:15 p.m.
Qualifying 3:30 p.m. -- 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 30:
Warm Up 9:45 a.m. -- 10:00 a.m.
RACE 12:00 p.m. -- 1:00 p.m.

Television Broadcasts: Speed Channel will broadcast Sunday's Round 6 race from the Chicago Motor Speedway at 9:00 p.m. EST same day delay, while Atlantic fans in Canada can watch the race on RDS on Sunday July 7th at 11:00 a.m. Check http://www.toyotaatlantic.com for updated information.
Next Race: The Round 6 of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship at Chicago Motor Speedway kicks off a three week stretch of races. The series makes its first visit of the season to Canada next week for the Molson Indy Toronto, followed by the always exciting Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by US Bank the week after.
