HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (February 11, 1996) -- Veteran driver and team owner Joe Sposato, of Arcadia, Calif., has announced he will again campaign in the Player's/Toyota Atlantic Championship but he'll be behind the wheel of a new Ralt RT-41.
"Our Swift DB-4 has given us excellent service but the time has come to replace it with a state of the art car," said Sposato.
Sposato will run at selected Atlantic events with sponsorship from Scott Breathing Apparatus, Black Diamond Fire Boots, Angus Fire Hose, and Elkhart Brass Products.
Sposato also announced that chief mechanic Jeff Case will return to Sposato Motor Racing for 1996, and be joined by mechanics Paul Crawford and Mike Simpson. Ron Hendrix, of AED Engines, will oversee the engine program.
Sposato holds the record for most career Atlantic races with 94, and expects to make his 100th career Player's/Toyota Atlantic race start sometime this season. He'll make his '96 debut at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach where he finished 11th place overall in last year's race.
