Grand Prix Player's de Trois-Rivières Round 7 of the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship
TROIS-RIVIÈRES, Quebec - Team KOOL Green's Alex Gurney will start from the sixth row after qualifying 11th for tomorrow's 45-lap Grand Prix Player's de Trois-Rivières. Gurney fought with traffic throughout the session, posting a time of 1:02.985 seconds at an average speed of 86.934 mph.
Overall points leader Anthony Lazzaro of Acworth, Ga., won his fourth pole position of the season and set a new qualifying record with a lap of 1:01.616 seconds (88.866 mph) on the 1.5207-mile street circuit. Lazzaro broke the mark of 1:01.784 set by Jacques Villeneuve in 1993.
Alex Tagliani of Lachenaie, Que., will start alongside Lazzaro on the front row, following his qualifying time of 1:01.838 seconds (88.547 mph). Kenny Wilden, of Burlington, Ont., and Buddy Rice, of Phoenix, Ariz., will start on the second row, respectively.
Scheduled to begin at 1:45 p.m. Eastern Time, tomorrow's race is Round 7 of 12 in the KOOL/Toyota Atlantic Championship. ESPN2 will televise the race on Sunday, Aug, 8 at 12 p.m.

"It was a little frustrating because I didn't get to complete the whole thing. I missed the last eight minutes or so where a lot of guys got their quick time. After the last black flag, I came out of the pits and broke second gear, so we were done. I think we were eighth or ninth at the time. I'm still searching for that big chunk of time."
