The argentinian Waldemar Coronas finished in sixh position in the Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland, valid for the eighth competition of the CART Totota Alantic series disputed in the temporary circuit located at the Burke Lakefront Airport.
Coronas made on saturday a fantastic qualifying session, finishing in third place.
On sunday Waldemar started from the second row. In the first curve Coronas had a touch with the Mexican driver Luis Díaz.
This incident made Coronas loose three positions and put him in sixth place. Near the 24 lap the fight between the Argentinian and Grant Ryley made center the atention of all the present in the circuit. Ryley passed Coronas but he recuperated again the position without problems.
Finally the top three were: Ryan Hunter Reay followed by Jon Fogarty at 7.015 and Luis Diaz at 7.262.
Coronas finished sixth at 22.209 of the winner.
¨Was a very hard race. In the first curve I have a touch with Luis Diaz which broke the front of my car. With that problem it was difficult to drive. In lap 24 Ryley was pressing a lot, he passed me but I passed him again in the first curve. We leave happy with the team bacause we made a good job here. We hope to be in the podium. The important is that we find the course and we are confident for the next races.¨ said Waldemar Coronas after the race.
The next competition will be in the canadian circuit of Trois Rivieres next Augoust 4th.
