After Monza, another podium for GP Racing
The second best time during the qualifications, the first during the warm up and third after the race: Fabrizio Del Monte was one of the main protagonists this weekend in Spa, Belgium. Roman Rusinov instead was 4th on the starting grid and third during the warm up but a collision during the first lap took him out of the race all too soon.
These performances confirm the Venetian's team competitiveness. Infact, GP Racing is one the leading teams at every race in the Euro 3000 Series.
Tancredi Pagiaro
, Team Manager
"Overall, it was a positive weekend. We have only one regret: Rusinov`s
accident with Heidfeld. Luckily none of the drivers got hurt. Due to this
accident they stopped the race and we had to restart it again .Unfortunately
during the second start, Fabrizio wasn't able to start off well and slipped into
fifth place during the first lap. Thanks to his character and the car's
performance Del Monte was able to recuperate a few positions till the third
place and gave us a well deserved podium position."
Roman Rusinov
"I had a few technical problems during the free practice session but the
qualifications and the warm up went quite well for me. Unfortunately, the
accident with Heidfeld during the race put me out of commission too soon
and I wasn't able to prove myself. I'm just glad that none of us got seriously
hurt."
Fabrizio Del Monte
"I was one of leaders in Spa and I have to thank the team for all the work
they have done. I was the only driver who set a time lower than 2'09''00
during the warm up and this proved how competitive our car can be.
Unfortunately, the race suspension didn't bring me luck. I didn't take off well
during the second start and I had to gain a few positions by overtaking my
adversaries. I'm satisfied with the third place and this will give me the
strength to reach for the top during the rest of the season."
