EU3000: Spa qualifying notes, times

Three poles out of three for Bonanomi. Martini fixes his own car

Third consecutive pole position in three races for the new qualifying king, Marco Bonanomi. In Spa, third round of the season, he dominated all the session bringing on top again the Fisichella Motor Sport Team. Bonanomi responded firmly to any tentative from his team-mate Ricci, championship leader and winner of three races out of four.

The young driver from Lecco lowered his fastest time from the initial 2'06"895 to 2'05"127. Ricci was second fastest in 2'06"405, just in front of Roldan Rodriguez. The Spanish driver turned a strong 2'06"710 after hiding in the two practice sessions. Astromega's Tuka Rocha will close the second row, as he beat Matteo Cressoni (Vanni-Traini). Side-by-side with the LMES 2005 GT champion will start Vitaly Petrov for Euronova. Seventh place went to Paolo Nocera, who went off in turn 8 and couldn't improve his time.

Unlucky debut for Jason Tahinci (Astromega): the officials cancealed all his laptimes due to a forbidden in-session refuelling. Martini was 12th; after breaking an uniball he tried to fix the damage by himself, and came back in his pit in time to do a flying lap. <pre> QUALIFYING PRACTICES ROUND 3 Spa Francorchamps
