ASA Introduces New Ticketing Program

PENDLETON, Ind. (March 15, 2000) - For the 2000 American Speed Association (ASA) ACDelco Series season, ASA will introduce a new event-ticketing program, designed to better accommodate fans. The program includes three changes from the ticket policy of the past.

The first aspect of the new plan calls for reserved seating at all ASA ACDelco Series events. The reserved seat plan is introduced primarily to facilitate corporate involvement in the series, which continues to grow rapidly. Reserved seat tickets for all r aces will be $25 each, with general admission tickets selling for $20 each, except for the events at Chicago Motor Speedway, The Milwaukee Mile, the Minnesota State Fair and I-70 Speedway.

ASA's second new policy adds that children 12 years old and younger will be admitted free with a paying adult in the general admission seating section. The second new policy also applies to 16 of 20 races with the same four exceptions as above.

The third new aspect of the ticketing program is a reflection of ASA's new two-day format at events. With the purchase of a race day ticket, fans will be admitted to the qualifying day activities without additional charge. If attending only qualifying day activities and not purchasing a race day ticket, the qualifying day admission charge is $10.

"We know we have to accommodate corporations involved with the series, but we also want to keep the fan in mind," ASA Executive Vice President Brian Robbins said. "While the reserved seating is $25, our general admission tickets are just at $20 and kids ar e admitted free with a paying adult. We are still making it affordable for a family to enjoy a great weekend of racing."
