ABAY ON TOP IN THE WET
Oxia Carlin driver, Sam Abay, declared himself pleased with the progress made during the two Friday test sessions in the lead up to the second round of the 2008 British Formula 3 Championship at Croft this weekend.
The rookie set the fourth fastest time in a dry morning session, a tenth-of-a-second off the pace. Abay then topped a wet afternoon session setting the fastest time, over 1.1sec ahead of his nearest rival in a field of 28 cars. Having also topped the wet test session at Oulton Park a month ago, Abay is quickly building a reputation for having webbed-feet.
"It's always nice to be up at the pointy end, but test times are relatively meaningless. However, time in the car to work through set-ups is vital to me at this stage. Getting the car set-up is an area in which I still have a lot to learn, but we continue to make progress every time we go out on the track." said the Australian who completes in his second Formula 3 event this weekend.
