Mustonen finishes fifth at Silverstone
Raikkonen Robertson Racing's (Double R) F3 driver Atte Mustonen finished fifth and tenth in the two legs of the Silverstone British F3 round on Saturday.
The team has had problems setting up the car all season, and this weekend's meeting at Silverstone offered no respite. This meant that Atte had to be content with starts from seventh and ninth on the grid.
Both of Saturday's races were held in dry conditions. In the morning race Atte succeeded in moving up a few places, but dropped back down the order after Nick Tandy crashed into the back of him. The two span off the track and lost several places. Atte eventually came home in tenth place. The race was won by Oliver Turvey, with Brendon Hartley second and Marcus Ericsson third.
In the afternoon race Atte got a great start, and managed to move up from ninth on the grid to fifth at the chequered flag. Oliver Turvey was once again victorious, with Marcus Ericsson second and Nick Tandy third.
"The problems continue, but we won't give up. We'll fight on," said Atte in his familiar terse way after the race.
Mustonen is now fifth in the points standings on 130 points. Oliver Turvey leads the series with 192 points.
The next British F3 race meeting will be at Bucharest, on 23.-24.8.
