Team PSP prepares for action at Croft.
With spirits high at Team PSP following yet another podium place for David Leslie at Mondello Park, the team is keen to get back into action at Croft. In the run up to what is sure to be an eventful outing, David Leslie will no doubt be experiencing a touch of nostalgia." I'm looking forward to going back to Croft;" says the Oxfordshire-based ace,"it's the first circuit I ever raced at, back in 1976".
An action-packed Feature race at Mondello Park swiftly followed David Leslie's excellent result in the Sprint. Said Leslie:" Somebody hit me hard in the early stages of the race and I felt the steering go awry; something in the rack was broken". But instead of parking his Impian, he battled on in the hope that there would be points for survivors to be picked up."It was another useful learning experience," he says"not least for the amount of damage repair the lads have had to deal with".
Despite the damage obtained during the dodgems in the Feature race at Mondello Park, Team PSP is more than ready to tackle the circuit at Croft. "It's changed a bit since I first raced there," notes Leslie"and has a great variety of fast and slow corners, including the tightest hairpin we race on, which makes it a good vantage point for photographers". And this hairpin from hell isn't the only problem the drivers will face."I just hope it doesn't rain; the bumpy old circuit section floods and aquaplaning in a Touring Car is not a recommended experience!" says Leslie.
Croft is a demanding circuit, and with a gridfull of eager BTCC racers going for it, there should be plenty of action for enthusiastic spectators to enjoy. Team PSP hopes to be right there in the thick of it.
