Silverstone proves tough for Nash

The Silverstone National circuits combination of long straights and none technical corners posed a puzzle for James Nash and the 888 team that was never quite solved all weekend.

The Dunlop MSA British touring car championships annual visit to the Northamptonshire circuit left James in and out of the lower end of the top ten in all the sessions and races, his results for the weekend consisted of two 11th places and a battling 8th place finish from the three races.

It's recognised that the Vectra struggles on long straight circuits like Silverstone National circuit and is more suited to technical circuits like Oulton Park where James finished on the podium, the upcoming Knockhill round in Scotland on the 5th September should prove ideal for James and the Triple Eight team as it is a highly technical circuit.

James commented, "All weekend we just couldn't get the balance on the car we wanted, losing out on some corner speed and then leaving me defenceless against the quick cars down the long straights. It's one of those things, we know the Vectra is superb at most tracks, sometimes you have to live with a hard weekend at the odd track, Silverstone turned out to be one of those tracks, roll on Knockhill, that's a track that couldn't be more different to Silverstone!"
