Marc Coma stage 8 report
Stage 8. Marc Coma gets a new victory
The AMV rider is still leading the overall to 9 minutes and 19 seconds from Frenchman Cyril Despres.
New victory for Marc Coma who, with a time of 6 hours 5 minutes and 2 seconds, completed the 508 kms of special connecting the cities of Antofagasta and Copiapo. The eighth stage of the rally drive has seen the AMV rider , very consistent at all times, crossed the finish line 1 minute and 55 seconds ahead of his true rival, Frenchman Cyril Despres.
The stage, with three very distinct parts, and demanding, and not allow any mistake and the AMV pilot, knowing the difficulty that housed it, has not let anything or anyone snatched another victory. His team-mate Joan Pedrero, continues to demonstrate its great value as a pilot and, once again, managed to sneak between the fastest drivers and was sixth at the end of six hours 21 minutes 42 seconds. In the overall, Pedrero is seventh with 34 hours 21 minutes 53 seconds.
MARC COMA Pilot AMV: "I am happy to have won another stage but, again, has been very hard. Over 500 kms of special have been very demanding but also, we have made a liaison of 200 kms that has left us exhausted. The stage consisted of three parts. The first, very technical, the second very quick, and third, with many dunes. Again, the final kilometers were particularly harsh and demanding. Despite the hardness of the stage we have managed to be consistent and this is the most important. Today's stage was very important and I think we passed with flying colors."
