BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (Sept. 21, 2002) Chris Mackley of Bonne Terre drove "Four Play" to both top eliminator and first place wins Saturday night in the Open 4x4 class at Big River Sand Drags. Mackley defeated second place finisher Bill Sutton of Bonne Terre in the top eliminator race. In Vehicle ET, Carla Glatczak of Potosi was the first place winner with David Mallow taking home second place. Mallow was also the top eliminator on the night.
In Off Road Modified, Todd Dee of Leadwood continued his mastery of the class by again taking the top eliminator and first place titles. James Womble finished in second place.
In Stock Buggy, Josh Harris of Belgrade was the top eliminator and first place winner while Ralph Smith of Mineral Point took home second place. In Super Pro ATV, Jim Burns of Bonne Terre was first with Kyle Bates taking second place and top eliminator.
In Pro ATV, Blake Henderson of Salem, Ill. was the top eliminator and first place winner while Jimmy Smith captured second place. In ATV-1, Levi Harris of Bonne Terre was first with Chris Schmidt second. Schmidt was also the top eliminator.
In Junior ATV, Garth Farris of Potosi was the winner with Cameron Coleman of Hillsboro second.
Saturday the regular season at Big River comes to a close with the annual "Beach Party" night. The track champions in all classes and the overall track champions of both the ATV and MSRA divisions will be crowned. Comedian Bob Ridings and his sound system will also be a part of the festivities. The only event remaining on the Big River Sand Drags schedule following this weekend's event will be the second annual ATV Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 5 and Sunday, Oct. 6. A $5,000 guarenteed purse is being given that weekend.
