DeeAnna Hall named to Spring Open post

SPARTANBURG, SC. - DeeAnna Hall has been a fan of drag racing all of her life, and because of that, the 21-year old journalism major at the University of South Carolina in Spartanburg will get the opportunity to work in the field of her dreams. Hall was recently named the publicity director for the CompetitionPlus.com Spring Open, to be held March 8-11, at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, Va. She also joins the staff of the popular e-zine CompetitionPlus.com as an associate editor effective today.

Hall is currently a senior at the USCS, majoring in journalism with a minor in photography.

She will be responsible for manufacturing press releases for the event, which will be the official IHRA preseason test event. Hall will also work as an assistant to the editor.

"I feel like CompetitionPlus.com is pioneering an industry and I knew in the early going that I wanted to be a part of that," explained Hall, whose background is rich in racing history. "I feel like this gives me the opportunity to start on the ground floor of the future and grow with the program. I am really excited about working with the race, as well as the magazine. The opportunities are endless and I'm going to try and capitalize on the chance I have here."

DeeAnna's father is former IHRA Super Modified and Super Stock legend Tommy Hall, and her brother is Stacey Hall, who currently competes in Top Sportsman and is a past national event winner.

"I grew up in a racing atmosphere," explained Hall. "I love drag racing and I know that I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to work at something that I love. I think I am at a loss for words when I think about what this job has to offer. I look forward to meeting a lot of the drivers, media reps as well as the officials of all the drag racing sanctions."
