Goodguys 2001 Race Dates

Alamo, CA - The Goodguys Vintage Drag Racing Association has announced their 2001 event dates, marking their 13th season of holding the nation's premier nostalgia drag racing series.

Seven events make up the schedule, which gets kick-started with the gigantic 42nd March Meet, March 9, 10 & 11 at Bakersfield's Famoso Raceway. Bakersfield native and NHRA's first-ever Top Fuel World Champion, Jack Williams will serve as the event's Grand Marshal.

The schedule also includes the 13th Nitro Nationals April 21 & 22 at Sears Point Raceway, the 1st Spring Nitro Classic May 5 & 6 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the 13th Hot Rod Nationals June 8, 9 & 10 at Indianapolis Raceway Park, the 12th Fall Classic September 8 & 9 at Sears Point Raceway and the 2nd Las Vegas Fuel & Gas Finals, September 21, 22 & 23. Also included are two Friday Night Nostalgia Drag Races at National Trail Raceway in Columbus Friday, July 13th and S.I.R., Friday, July 20th. Twelve classes of competition will be featured in the five-race West Coast Championship Series including Top Fuel, A/Fuel, Pro-Supercharged, Junior Fuel, A/GAS (7.60), Nostalgia Eliminator (7.60), B/GAS (8.60), C/GAS (9.60), Nostalgia II (8.60), Nostalgia III (9.60), Hot Rod Eliminator ('54 & earlier cars 7.60-12.99) and Street Machine Eliminator ('55-'72 cars 7.60-12.99). www.good-guys.com
