Summit Drag Racing Finals, Sept. 29-Oct. 1
SONOMA, Calif. (Saturday, September 25) - It will be drag racing madness at Sears Point Raceway this weekend, September 29-October 1.
Sears Point Raceway will host the Summit Racing 2000 ET Bracket Drag Racing Finals on its world-famous quarter-mile drag strip. More than 600 competitors from various parts of the western United States will compete for a purse of more than $30,000 in what is considered the Super Bowl of drag racing for non-professionals in Division 7.
Competition will take place in the following categories: Pro, Sportsman, Street and Bike. Championship purses are as follows: Pro ($4,000), Sportsman ($2,000), Street ($1,200) and Bike ($750). There will also be drag racing in High School division.
Gates open at 8 a.m. Friday-Sunday, with final eliminations set for Sunday at 8:15 a.m. Admission is $15 per day or you can purchase a three-day pass (Friday-Sunday) for $35. Children 12 and under are free. All tickets can be purchased at the gate. For more information, call 800-870-RACE.
