Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella had a difficult day -- but he knows that with some hard work this evening, he can have a competitive car tomorrow.

Q: How did your day go Giancarlo?

Giancarlo Fisichella: It wasn't so easy. I don't know why, but the track conditions were really different to what we had in testing. There was also lots of wind today, and that's something which really disrupts the drivers. From one lap to another, the car's handling changes, sometimes you will hit the rev limiter at the end of the straight..."

"I had quite a lot of understeer, especially in the fast corners, and I also had a delay at the start of the session which stopped me from doing as many laps as I wanted. We have lots of work to do tonight in order to improve things.

Q: Do you have enough information to choose your tyres?

GF: I think so. Between the two of us, Fernando and I did more than 35 laps this afternoon. We managed to collect enough information that the choice seems fairly clear.

Q: Are you optimistic for the rest of the weekend?

GF: Yes. We were pretty fast in the test at Silverstone, and although McLaren were quick, we were right behind them, so we should be fighting for the podium. The circuit characteristics are not perfect for our car, but we can get a good result. I am optimistic.

Q: There is still 50% of the season to go -- what are you hoping for?

GF: There's still plenty of races, it's true! I am really looking forward to it, because the team has been working hard to develop the car. I am very confident that I will have more chances to take victories this season.
